Position Summary The Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) is seeking candidates to fill a .NET application developer vacancy. This position supports the agency mission by serving as a member of the Information Technology Applications Development team as the primary lead .NET application developer and principal database programmer. Responsibilities include performing analysis, design, programming, support, maintenance, and documentation of applications. As a senior-level specialist and workgroup lead, this position applies advanced technology knowledge to evaluate and resolve complex tasks related to application development projects. This position interacts with members of the agencys application development team, other agency staff, community and technical colleges, community based organizations, private career schools, and the general public. Duty Statements Work with users to define application requirements, provide systems analysis, and prepare design documents. Provide development, testing, support, and on-going maintenance of applications utilizing C#, ASP.NET, and SQL Server 2000/2005. Lead the application development team by coordinating, monitoring, and reporting on team projects. Create technical and end user documentation. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications The successful candidate will have: Community or technical college degree/certificate in computer information technology or related program OR two years related work experience OR equivalent combination of work experience and education. Preferred Qualifications Bachelors degree in related program OR four years of computer information technology experience such as analyzing, designing, installing, programming and/or maintaining computer software applications. Working Conditions This position works indoors at the Olympia office. Typical work week is Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in an office cubicle environment with multiple interruptions. Use of computer is required approximately 95% of the time. Employee Benefits This is a full-time classified position. The salary range is $4,453 to $5,841 monthly, with placement based upon experience and qualifications. Salary based on General Service Salary Schedule for Washington state, Range 62.
